V1-Rotate - a lounge chair inspired by the pure beauty of aviation. This furniture piece features a simple and modern design but at the same time maintains the key elements of an airplane.
"V1-Rotate" in terms of aviation means commit to fly. V1 is defined as the speed beyond which the take-off should no longer be aborted. Rotate (VR) is the second speed at which the pilot begins to apply control inputs to make the aircraft nose to pitch up, after which it leaves the ground.
The legs rotated on two axis provide a chair with a dynamic look as if it wants to take-off.
The meticulously placed screws on the backrest and seat remind of rivets on the aircraft fuselage. The round legs intersecting the armrests create an impression of a real pilot seat with a cutout for a yoke a.k.a control wheel.
